This is a very beautiful chromolithograph of a mushroom variety, Agaricus Pantherinus, from the first edition of F. Leuba’s “Les Champignons Comestibles …” published Paris, 1890.One of the most beautiful and rare work on mushrooms, there were over 52 prints represented, including the exotic truffle. Many of the mushroom prints, including this one, have dramatic and very decorative black backgrounds.

This chromolithograph, Plate VIII, shows the mushroom variety, Agaricus Pantherinus, a spotted mushroom thought to be poisonous
Size and Condition

Condition is very fine and the overall size is approximately 9 ¾” x 13 ½” long. There was no descriptive text but a copy of the title page is included.
